We stopped in to Ryan’s after a recommendation from a friend. A very simple order of 3 burgers and a Poutine special took about 40 minutes to prep. The waitperson would not allow me to order grilled onions on my burger although it was featured on another menu item. That should have been a hint. The Poutine was pretty bland with cheese curds that were cold in the middle. I overheard the table next to us complain about the food delay so the waitperson took their drinks off their bill. The burgers were not very good. After we paid, one of us asked about the slow food service and our waitperson said that we make everything from scratch and this is not bar food! Indeed!

Stopped on our way through town! Had a super kind bartender welcome us right away when we sat down at the bar. She made us feel at home! The interior is unassuming in here, but the food is not. Absolutely delicious meal. Such a unique menu with something for everyone to enjoy. They make it very hard to choose. We will be dreaming about this food for a while and will definitely be popping back up from Milwaukee just to eat here! Thanks for making my flavor dreams come true with your awesome and unique food menu and cocktail list!

In Manitowoc for the maritime museum, and this place was close by. The menu looked unique and had good reviews. We got the Caribbean Burger, Katsu Melt and shared the RoY Fries. Everything tasted great and the portions were perfect for the price! I even took half my sandwich home (it was great in the air fryer). The only downside was that they got busy towards the end of our meal. It was sometime since they checked in on us, so we decided to go up to the bar to pay/ask for a to-go box. Prior to that they were very attentive (bartender and busboy). Can’t help a busy day! I’m happy to see thriving businesses. 🙂 We absolutely want to come back when we go to the art museum to try some of their bowls (San Fran Noodles in particular). Yum!

Ryan’s On York is one of those places where you struggle to pick what to order because everything sounds good. I ended up getting the Seoul tacos and they were excellent. I will absolutely be stopping again next time I’m in Manitowoc.

Awesome staff -- let's start there! They were very knowledgeable about veganism even warning me about their wheat noodles which have egg whites (they subbed San Fran noodles -DELICIOUS). They were very friendly and very attentive; I appreciate it! The fries I ordered, to eat there while I waited for my food, were hand cut, crispy and a great starter. I ordered the spicy noodles to go. The noodles were so good, the tofu was cooked just right -- the only issue was the dish was too spicy, like beyond edible - I still ate it because those noodles and tofu were on point. I think an addition of teriyaki bowl is in order - wink, wink* The tofu upcharge for $5 is pretty expensive. I will DEFINITELY be back to try some other choices they offer.

I recently visited Ryan's In York at 712 York St, in Manitowoc, WI. I had read the menus before I got there so I knew something good was on my lunch plans. Insta at the counter and was quickly greeted and my drink then arrived. The bartender and I went over the menu and sauteed beets was an awesome starter. Next, the Caribbean burger was great. What a great place and one I would easily go back to.

It's got the atmosphere of a cute little dive bar, and super friendly staff, but what's going to keep us coming back for our whole vacation is the FOOD! Easily the most interesting menu in Manitowoc, from a city girl's perspective, with well thought out and executed dishes. It's rare that more than a couple things stand out to try on a menu, but I need to come back for at least a dozen meals to try everything that looked good on this one! 😋
