What an experience! Ever since John Prine was taken from us too early, and before I was able to see him in concert, I’ve been trying to see my favorite music icons before it is too late. This year, my wife surprised me with tickets to see one of my all time favorites, Ray Wylie Hubbard, in a small Texas venue. It was totally worth the 11 hour drive from our home in Missouri… but the team at Bugle Boy made it even more valuable by going above and beyond to make it a special experience that we’ll never forget. After checking in at the door we were led to two VIP seats reserved with our name on them. It goes without saying the performance was up close and personal with a true ICON (as Ray Wylie requested to be referred to on stage that night, tongue firmly in cheek with his keen sense of humor). During the intermission, it was announced how far we had travelled and that we were celebrating our anniversary. We were then presented a card wishing us a happy anniversary, and it was signed by Ray Wylie and his son, Lucas, who killed it on guitar. It was truly a wonderful gift from my wife made even more special by the team at Bugle Boy. Please support this non-profit group who are working to keep live music alive!

Omg what can I say. This place is in a vintage quanset hut from Camp Swift in Bastrop. It's a music venue called a "listening room" probably seats about 50 people. It's a 501c3 non profit benefitting upcoming musicians. We've been several times and have never been disappointed.

Have visited The Bugle Boy on several occasions. The facility is truly a gem! The small listening room has great acoustics and comfortable seating. Recently went to see Radney Foster. Radney played 2-45 minute solo sets using his guitars. The audience is able to sit very close to the performer. Outstanding all the way around. Look forward to future visits. Thank you.
