This a really cute cafe tucked away in a little village in the peak district. We ordered a coffee and a lemonade which came to £6.90. I would have given the cafe 5 stars if not for the prices. Unfortunately there is no competition and therefore the prices are quite high. £12 for a bagel and £7 for eggs on toast as an example. We found the prices too high to justify paying for food.

Been to the school rooms before and it was lovely but on this visit as a party of 9 we found it very disappointing. We had booked a table and it wasn't available until 15mins after the booking time, we ordered burgers, pie, fish and chips, braised steak sandwiches and a kids sausage meal. We sent the kids sausage back as it was hard and inedible, the beef burgers were dry and over cooked as was the steak sandwiches, pie meat was also dry. Staff were really busy it being the first sunny day of the year but when you are paying for good quality food that is what you expect to receive. We did inform staff of our disappointment when paying but we didn't really receive an apology for having to wait for the table or for the poor quality food

Fantastic, food is gorgeous, super super tasty and the portions are very good. The atmosphere is excellent, the whole place is decorated and furnished extremely well. The outdoor area is great in the sunshine. Would love to visit again.

Birthday lunch. Fish n chips amazing.(.GF.)vegetarian burger chips and coleslaw. Proper fat chips absolutely delicious..we even took our dog lily she was made to feel very welcome. Would 100%recommen.

I visited The Schoolrooms Café in a small British village about two months ago, and I still think about how nice it was. From the outside, the place looks like a charming old school building with a warm and cozy atmosphere. There are lights hanging outside, and lots of plants around the entrance, which makes it feel very welcoming. Inside, the café is beautifully decorated. The wooden floors, soft lighting, and classic wall paneling give the space a peaceful and nostalgic vibe. It almost feels like sitting in an old classroom, but much more comfortable and stylish. The seating area is clean, quiet, and perfect for relaxing or having a calm conversation. I ordered a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. The coffee was fresh and rich, and the cake was light and delicious – like something homemade. The staff were friendly and polite, and the service was quick and easy. One of my favorite moments was sitting by the window, looking out at the trees. It was raining lightly, and everything felt calm and slow – just the kind of break I needed. If you're visiting the area, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s a lovely little spot to relax, enjoy some good food, and take in the peaceful village atmosphere.

Would have been 5 stars except the individual chip portions at £4 per portion were very skinny. That said, the quality of the food was 5 stars, the chips were chunky, very tasty and the coffee and cakes were amazing! 👌🏼 The fish and chips meal seem much better value with a huge fish portion 👍🏼 Staff, although run ragged due it being a popular busy spot, we're very friendly, helpful and uber efficient, only a 5 minute wait for chips as a snack and coffee and cakes brought to our table. Very accommodating for dog owners too 👏🏼 I'm sure we'll be back 👍🏼

Been a few times now, and the food just keeps getting better. Our cousin is celiac and finds it very hard to get a decent meal out, she was very impressed when not only could she have a full breakfast like the rest of us but said it was outstanding. Just about everything she could want was available to her. Great place fantastic food and lovely staff.
