Harvester Old Castle Salisbury

As a very frequent customer to Harvesters all across the country we decided to try the Old Castle out en route back from the Isle of Wight. We we're welcomed by friendly staff and even though early by 30 minutes were shown straight to a table. Food was ordered quickly and came out within about 10 minutes, just about giving us time to grab something from the salad bar. Food was came out hot, fresh and tasted great. All staff were friendly, pleasant and happy to help. Very clean and tidy and cannot fault. This was a very positive experience at this particular establishment ranking it in my top 5 of Harvesters visited.

I don’t often take the time to write reviews, but after my visit to the Old Castle Harvester in Salisbury, I felt I absolutely had to share my experience. My husband and I popped in for dinner last night, and from start to finish, it was just lovely. The food was delicious and fresh — my steak was cooked exactly as I asked, and the salad bar was beautifully stocked and tidy — but what really made the evening special was our wonderful server, Emily. Emily was an absolute gem. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel welcome and relaxed. She had the perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism — attentive without ever hovering. She took the time to chat with us in such a natural, genuine way, and you could tell she truly cares about her customers. She recommended the perfect wine to go with our meal and even noticed when our glasses were getting low before we did! Little touches like that really make all the difference. It’s rare these days to find someone in hospitality who takes such pride in what they do, but Emily clearly does. She made sure everything was just right throughout the meal, checking in at just the right moments and always with a warm smile. Nothing felt rushed or forced — just honest, thoughtful service. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cosy and pleasant, the food was great value for money, and the staff all seemed happy and well-organised, which speaks volumes about the management. But truly, Emily was the highlight of our evening — she’s a credit to Harvester and the kind of person who makes you want to come back again soon. So thank you, Emily, for such a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be returning — and requesting your section next time!

Myself and my family ( consisting also of my elderly grandparents ) went on Friday 31 of October 2025 and we had a great time. The food was a good quality, hearty meal that arrived quickly after ordering. As a family group we all loved the menu as there were at least 2 menu items that we could have each gone for. The food was nothing fancy but was very well done and purely lovely. Our server was Yasmin and she was very nice, attentive and always had a smile on her face. The bill was very reasonable for a group of 6. My experience today was very nice and we all had a lovely day.

The atmosphere created by the staff themselves made the experience to a degree but the overall service was exceptionally slow. We had two courses and went in at 1930 and left approaching 2200. We both had the streak, one cooked really well (Medium rare) and the other didn't hit the mark (More mediumtham medium rare). My other-half wanted the rotisserie chicken (Signature dish) but the restaurant had run out. We suggested replacing with normal chicken breaststroke but the chef apparently said 'No, he can't do that', thus we both had the steak. All in all, would I recommend it? Yes. You get what you pay for to be totally honest. Food was ok but the happy staff made up the short-falls.

Great food in a good place. Our server, Megan, was absolutely brilliant. Friendly, chatty yet professional. It was sad that ice-cream wasn't available today but Megan delivered the need to my children in such a way that they weren't disappointed. Really great service and will definitely be back

I had the pleasure of trying the burger here, and it was absolutely outstanding! The patty was perfectly cooked juicy, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The bun was soft but held everything together without getting soggy, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced, adding the perfect crunch and tang. What really stood out was the attention to detail the burger felt carefully crafted, not just thrown together. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it honestly might be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. If you’re a burger lover, this place is a must-visit!

Quick, friendly service. Great food served well and piping hot. Our server/waitress was Emily and she made the experience really enjoyable. I've not been to a harvester for ten years but will most certainly be back. Great customer service, thank you.

Curtis was absolutely amazing after a major cock up from previous server who was rude and was selling us something that had a sauce that could of put me into anaphylactic shock because it had celery in. Curtis was passing by and asked if everything was ok and we told him we were unhappy with the previous server. This was when he decided to take over from her and asked about any allergies, we told him, to which he told me he couldn't serve me the meal that had just been placed Infront of me as the sauce was something that wouldn't be safe for me to eat. He returned not just my 'adjusted' meal but also my daughter's meal who has the same issues and returned with freshly cooked ribs without the sauce. Due to this gentleman we had a fantastic meal, happy and safe, we also decided to stay for more drinks and puddings for all five of us in the family. A real asset to the restaurant.
