Amesbury Fish Bar

Absolute hidden gem. Must stop on your way to/from Stonehenge or Stourhead. Craving some good local food and stumbled up this amazing space on google maps. We were not disappointed. Everything was made fresh and the fish had such a satisfying crisp. We got the large cod and chips, the serving was massive and so delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming to us as tourists. You have to stop here.

Usual chip shop fare, all cooked to order when we went in the evening but only 10 mins wait for 3 chips, 1 large cod, 1 fish cake, 1 large battered sausage. All very tasty, hot and well cooked, the fish came with skin on but they can trim it off. Only given four stars as a lot of the chips seemed to be little bits.

Really super fresh cooked cod and haddock with excellent chips. Friendly service and generous portions. We’ll definitely be back soon. Sue and Tony. Sue’s mum said it was all really delicious.

If you're visiting Stonehenge or just passing through Amesbury, don’t miss Amesbury Fish and Chips Bar. The chips are some of the best I’ve ever had – crispy, golden, and full of flavour. The fish is fresh and tasty, and there are other classic takeaway options too. Staff were friendly, the food came out quickly, and prices were reasonable. Nothing fancy, just honest, delicious food served with a smile. ✅ Highly recommended, especially for fellow Latinos looking for a great local bite!

Absolutely lovely fish and chip shop! The lady behind the counter was so friendly and welcoming. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious, and the chips were just right – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

Awesome fish and chips and the staff were so friendly and welcoming ☺️. The chips weren't greasy and were so delicious with all the crispy bits too. Great portion size and freshly cooked with just the right amount of seasoning. Would definitely recommend ❤️.

Popped down for fish and chips as we are decorating our new home in Amesbury. Food cooked to order so was still nice and hot when we got home! Lovely service and great food Will become our go to fish and chips!

I popped in last night, having stumbled across this chippy & the ladies were welcoming, chatty & the meal was fab. A hidden gem! Will definitely be returning.
