Ideally located for exploring fun Astoria Oregon. One block from the main walking streets and two from the riverwalk pathway and antique trolley. The hotel is in good shape- the lighting, hardware , and finishes are middle-of-the-road. Not authentic. Breakfast is fuel and plain. However, the roof-top deck is superb.

Heated bathroom floors, people! Everything they could update in this building, they have done it. The staff are super courteous the place is located in the center of everything. Water pressure is good. The only thing that would have been better was the sheets. They were thin but soft none the less.

One of the most unique hotel experiences you'll ever have. Super comfy beds, heated floors in the bathroom, free pool in the basement, decent Continental breakfast, and the views from the roof are amazing. Parking during a busy time could be challenging.

Super cool. Old and refreshed. Bar in the lobby and And above average continental breakfast included. Rooftop access weather pending. We came in the winter but in the nice months there are chairs up there and a great view.

We visited Astoria on Christmas Day. We stopped at the Rusty Door for coffee (5 stars). Unfortunately, the milk in the hot chocolate upset my son’s stomach. Needing to find a bathroom the only open location on the block was the Hotel Elliott Astoria. When asked for the code to the Lobby bathroom we were asked if we were staying at the hotel. Answering honestly that we were not the woman behind the counter rudely yelled at us and told us to use the public restrooms in town. Being from out of town we did not know where they were and if not for a nice patron in the lobby who pointed them out we were walking aimlessly in the wrong direction. Given the situation (Christmas Day, being from out of town, and pouring rain) a little kindness, or a least directions to the public bathrooms would have been appreciated/appropriate. I come to Astoria occasionally, and there are lots of places to stay. But after this encounter I can rule out the Holel Elliott. Also, typically I may not write a review. But my son didn’t make it to the public bathroom and that somewhat soured the day.

I've stayed there twice, a few years apart. The experience was vastly different each time. I tried a queen and king room. The price for the room feels a bit over-priced given the amenities and parking situation. The location is absolutely great and is the biggest highlight, especially if you are visiting Astoria for the first time and want to spend time walking and exploring the downtown. Parking is always a huge pain and problem. They do not communicate it well and no real solution. It really is a roll of the dice on how close you get and you can end up parking a few blocks away from the hotel if you are coming and going. The Sunday Market always makes it worse, so check their schedules (May through October). The view from the top deck is nice, depending on weather of course. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a continental breakfast and a wine bar downstairs. They advertise amenities that are kind of a baseline for hotels. Rooms are generally pretty snug, but in all fairness it is an old hotel. The pictures on the website can be a bit misleading on size. We had a bad experience with whatever detergent or treatment they had on the bedding. We actually had a severe skin reaction to how they laundered them. I was terrified it was some kind of bug bites, we had to visit an urgent care to get checked out once we got home since the itching was so bad. I am hoping it was a one off. Unfortunately the last experience was too much and my wife refuses to go back. Which, understandably, made the visit worse and the week after recovering a bit more salt on the wound. This place appears to be hit and miss on experience with parking being the biggest detractor. I'd recommend that you do your research and read reviews.

Charming old-world hotel, good location, but overpriced. Small, cramped rooms. Cheap coffee machines: throw them out, get some Keurigs. Super harsh bright white LED bulbs in lamps next to beds. Couldn't find a thermostat in our room, possibly controlled centrally, spent the night baking. "Wonderful beds" is printed on the elevator floor which was charming and old-fasioney, but the bed was notably uncomfortable. Comforter on bed was some kind of plastic/synthetic material, possibly polyester, and felt cheap. All-in-all, they're charging premium prices with Motel 6 amenities.

I personally think the building itself is great. It has a very historic feel and smell to it. The location couldn't be any better. It is smack dab in the middle of Astoria. The staff were phenomenal. Caesar helped us and had amazing customer service. The highlight of the hotel is the rooftop terrace with a 360° view of Astoria. My gripe comes with the rooms themselves. My standards are high when a room is 300.00 a night. The rooms are very small. Almost cramped. No refrigerator? It's kind of unacceptable at this price point. The window mounted AC is terrible and loud. I feel like small improvements would really make this place great. I would still recommend staying here. It was a good experience overall.
