Came to the restaurant for my Mum's birthday and it was a great. The food was superb, we had the smaller appetites 2 courses and it was spot on. Had a drink outside before and after dinner as it's a beautiful place to sit and have a peaceful drink. The service was great. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and very efficient. We didn't stay over so I cannot comment on the rooms but I'd consider staying in future based on the great dining experience.

Highly rate this place. We were given Room 5 - a little palace! The room was big, well decorated and clean. Bathroom has a bath that was big, the shower was powerful and the towels smelled good. The bar is well stocked for everything from spirits to handpulled beer. Now, the important stuff - food! I say this with respect, the food isn't fancy or adventurous- its just done really, really well. I would recommended the roast chicken followed by the strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake. Also, the liver and bacon is worth a mention, as was the beef Rag. The breakfast was excellent- the orange juice will clear any headache you may have... The fry up and the avocado with poached eggs are good choices. Value for money!!

Lovely pub, food and service was ok. Only dropped one star due to limited parking and the staff were under staffed. But to be fair there was a funeral party that had descended on the pub just before we arrived. Will go back nonetheless

We visited for lunch, so no exposure to the rooms. If what we saw of the inn is anything to go by, I feel sure that the rooms will be of high quality. The whole vibe was warm and friendly, topped off with a great dose of cleanliness and excellent food and service. Prices were not off the wall at about £20 per person for the sandwiches, which included salad and chips.

Amazing service & food here. It was a complete lottery as we did zero research but wow, we won and will travel far to revisit the Old Bell Inn. Food, service and value for money is 100% 5 star. Well done to the team there.

We had dinner this evening celebrating my birthday and our 23rd wedding anniversary. Table booked for 6.30pm, prompt service for drinks but them waited almost an hour for the food to arrive. Sadly, although my pan fried sea bass was very tasty, it was only lukewarm. I informed the waiter of this and he said he would inform the chef and that was the last I heard of the issue. I did eat the meal as I was pretty hungry but felt somewhat disappointed, food should be hot. I later ordered an Irish Coffee which arrived promptly but the waitress had spilt the coffee on route to the table and the cream was spilt down the glass and the bottom of the glass Nd plate was floating in cream. I did request a replacement which was delivered as requested with only a minor spillage. Although we had a pleasant evening i do feel slightly disappointed that a special occation was not as special as it should have been. For these reasons I would feel somewhat hesitant to return.

Needed food en route home mid afternoon. Relieved to find this place still serving, but…. Meal was edible, however, Steak and ale pie a big con because it had far more mushrooms in it than steak. No mention of it having mushrooms on the menu and husband hates them! My scampi typical fare….bit soggy to be honest but good in that I could order a smaller portion. They do offer small plates on some meals. Garden peas absolutely tasteless and husband’s roast turnips were like leather. Service ok, place was ok but based on the food, no, we wouldn’t return.
