We sat near the window and had a great view of the wild weather outside. When we arrived the table was a mess with food everywhere and even the menu had been chewed up, the staff cleared up quickly after the animals who had used the area previously. We were served in a timely manner by lovely polite staff. The food good decent portions and the coffee exceptional.

Clean and modern cafe, we walked in expecting a good experience but were disappointed with the menu choices, not that veggie/vegan options and it was mostly sandwiches and wraps which for 5 of us came to quite a lot, for what it was. Cakes were good though! Table service was friendly but we did have to go to the counter a couple of times, as once we'd ordered they didn't pop over to take further orders. Very handy carpark and location for Hadrian's Wall.

The exhibits were fun and we all came away a little more knowledgeable, but the roof top walk was drab and felt neglected. The staff were nice, the cafe was a bit pricey but tasty and you pay for parking as you leave which was a nice change. There was a ship inside too that sold some local paintings and the usual tourist bits and bobs for some rather eye watering prices. There are walks you can do AROUND the Sill though that are beautiful and definitely worth a jaunt! Maybe spot a toad or blue dragonfly too.

What a fantastic facility, NO ! its REALLY fantastic facility informative and Educational Centre 🙂 Had a lovely breakfast in the cafe on the roof and what this place has to offer is outstanding. The only negative was that we intended to park our motohome in the overnight area to do some dark sky watching (as it advertised dark sky viewing) but then once parked we were told " we could not use the motohome throughout the night". So it would have been a long night without a hot drink and snacks.

Cheaper than other car parks in the area and well maintained. Toilets in the visitor centre were clean and modern.
