I visited this cafe to eat breakfast whilst passing through the village a few months ago, and I cannot for the life of me understand how this place has got such a high rating on Google. And it's not the staff - they were really polite and prompt. But the breakfast I was served was genuinely awful. The bacon looked as if it had been cooked for 30 seconds in a microwave, the beans were lukewarm, the sausages had one very light brown stripe, but otherwise looked mostly pink and uncooked. In short, nothing was enjoyable or cooked properly, and I could only eat the beans and the toast. When I told a staff member that the bacon didnt seem to have been cooked, she said I should have asked for it to be 'well done'. I love a full english. It's one of my favourite dishes and I've tried dozens of different places over the last year or two. But I cannot remember being served a worse breakfast than this. I've never been in a cafe where the food served to me was so poor, in comparison to the high ratings on Google. Hopefully the 'cook' was just having a bad day, but its not a place I would ever bother spending money in again. I might as well have thrown my money in the canal.

I've seen this cafe many times but have never been in. What a revelation. The grounds at the rear are beautiful. There's plenty of seating indoors and out. It's busy too. The café is located in the village hall, complete with a serving hatch and a number of tables. We ordered in a rather chaotic serving area but got our orders delivered to our tables outside very quickly. Staff are friendly too. Prices are below what you'd expect to pay in many other cafés. The rear garden is picturesque and perfect for a mid ride cafe stop. A real gem .
