I received an email in regards of a “case,” of a lost package, and the USPS wanted to know if I was satisfied. First of all, I had paid $13.89 for a self-mailed, required signature for the packaged I had mailed to myself, as this was supposed to be a simple task (regards of copy rights book I had written,) on August 13th, 2025, Wednesday, which was not due to arrive at my address until Saturday, August 16th, 2025. Unbeknownst, the mailman, "Dean," had dropped by the very next day, on Thursday, August 14th, when I was unavailable, and my Blink camera did in fact captured that the mailman did drop by. I am Deaf, and Dean knew of this, gave up so suddenly, and decides to turn it back in the 231 Government Ave. SW, Hickory, 28602, Post Office, because he "didn't know what to do," when I asked him where my package was, when, Friday, 8/15/2025, he came to my door without the package I had sent to myself, to ring the doorbell light, whereas I acknowledge that “he, Dean, the mailman," was at the door, and was home and available on Friday, August 15th, 2025. I then, went to the same PO in Hickory, 28602, on Friday, August 15th, 2025 and they could not find my package, and was told to return the follow day, on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, where of course, and again, could not find my package. I had called on Monday, August 18th, 2025 USPS via video phone to place a "lost package" and wanted to know whereabouts my package was. They decided to take the "case," and today is Thursday, August 21st, 2025, and I still have not received my package I had sent to myself. I had gone by there, Thursday, August 21st, for the third time and they (the USPS) still have not located the package I had sent to myself, and I literally live 4 blocks from the Post Office! I went back AGAIN🙄, August 22nd, Friday, only I walked! Took me 12 minutes to walk 4 blocks to the Post Office. 😑They still have no idea where the package is, as I was told at the same time, they're under staffed due to political reasons.🤨 I told them, "This was a simple task, living only 4 blocks away, as the "mailman," should've done his job, and come back the next day, but instead, he chose to be lazy." 😠Now, I have to wait until they find, "IF" ever. All I say is that, I am at loss and at the same time, baffled. Five times a trip to the very same Post office, where "Dean," "supposedly" dropped off the package, and they "supposedly" misplaced the package. I asked them, "What would you do if the Post office lost your mail?" One said, "I'd freak out," and another said, "I don't know." I do know this. This post office, 231 Government Ave. SW, Hickory, 28602, has employers and employees working for the government, and they're either LAZY like "Dean the mailman," or/and untrustworthy, because "They don't know what they're doing." You've been warned, and would suggest you ship your package elsewhere.

Last week while driving through Hickory, I saw a postal officer—a kind lady—walking behind a dog. Curious, I stopped to ask what was going on. She explained that the dog had gotten loose from a nearby home, and she had called the number on the tag. The dog’s mom was on her way to pick her up. I stayed with them to make sure the dog was safe. When the owner arrived, she was so thankful—and honestly, so was I. To all my dear postal officers: I love you! You are the best. Thank you for having such big, compassionate hearts. 💛🐾📬

Staff were very pleasant and helpful! I got my fingerprints done here for background check and was seen quickly on a walk-in basis. The fingerprinting services are done in the same place where the passport applications are done if you can’t find it when you walk in.

Has got to be the laziest bunch of drivers I've ever known constant issues with refusing to deliver my mail. Have tried to be nice and they still continue to refuse to deliver my mail on the norm. What ever happened to human beings. This is insane and beyond irritating. Yall need to do better and be more intouch with the customers you have.

My packages are delivered to random addresses and I have received other people’s packages who don’t remotely have the same address as I do. It will often say my package is out for delivery multiple days but never comes, but they bring others. I can’t seem to reach anyone about the issues. Consistently not delivering mail or mishandling it seems to be of no concern. I shouldn’t have to go out of my way to bring someone their mail around town because of their negligence to check behind themselves.
