Our first visit. We were in Bovey for the day and needed some lunch. Found this place and the menu on a board outside tempted us. A very friendly welcome. We both had the home made chicken leek and bacon pie with roasted vegetables, delicious,and only £7.50. A cup of tea £1. The cafe is designed for the over 50s. The cakes looked very tempting but will leave them for another time .

My elderly mother and I enjoyed lunch in the cafe. We were made very welcome. The 'Hunter's Chicken' - chicken wrapped with bacon with a barbecue sauce' was absolutely delicious, so were the cakes we took home to eat later. Lovely professional art on the walls. The only thing needed is some cushions for the chairs to add a little comfort.
