Rounding up from 4.2 The inside is open and inviting, plenty of room to move around. We were there on a rainy Sunday afternoon and very few people were there. Once our waitress finally showed up, it was mildly obvious she didn’t want to stay too long. She was far from rude, but her visits were very quick, and she made no attempt to connect or have chit chat. Again, it was rainy outside and dead inside, so we were lost as to why the cold shoulder. Our food arrived very quick. We did order the brisket ravioli and they were pretty tasty. I’ve been to a couple of their other locations and I feel like the bbq beans were not in line with what I’d had previously. The muffin/popper things were a little dry and quite possibly from the day before. All of the meat selections were very tasty though. And we were offered periodic refills, while dirty plates were also cleaned during our meal.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely phenomenal experience at Salt + Smoke! I came in expecting great BBQ, but I was completely blown away by the kale salad topped with beef brisket—yes, a salad! The kale was fresh and perfectly dressed, but the real star was the brisket: incredibly moist, tender, and packed with smoky, rich flavor. A perfect balance of healthy and indulgent. The staff was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They made me feel right at home and were happy to offer recommendations and answer questions. Salt + Smoke has definitely earned a top spot on my list. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Disappointing. Not up to par with the other locations. The brisket was dry and cut into cubes. Please explain the "cubes". Did the kitchen get lazy? All your other locations have served the brisket in tender slices. I had a difficult time cutting the cubes and chewing them. Your menu says "Deviled Eggs". Note the eggs is plural. The appetizer was 3 half eggs. You don't get to use plural eggs until you provide 2 whole eggs. $2.33 plus tax per half egg is too much. It's was just an ordinary deviled egg. I won't be back to this one.

I had the pick two meat plate. It is served with a bacon cheddar popover and 2 sides. I selected the pulled chicken and St Louis ribs. My sides were white cheddar cracker mac and brisket chili. For dessert I had the brown butter pecan bar with caramel sauce, and whipped cream. PRO TIP: the popover looks like a mushroom. Pull the bottom of the popover. Pull out the center. You now have a bread bowel. Fill it with the mac and chili. I marked atmosphere a 3 only because the AC could not keep up with the extreme heat. The fod came out fast and there was a lot. I have enough for another meal. We sat in the bar. Chris was our server. He is the bomb!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Salt + Smoke – BBQ that slaps harder than your mama when you talk back. Let’s talk about that brisket grilled cheese. It didn’t just melt—it disintegrated into a cheesy, smoky lava flow that oozed joy between every bite. I swear I heard angels hum when I bit into it. It was such a heavenly melted cheesy flow that you could taste between your teeth!! Now the wings… listen, I want to call them trash because of how messy I looked eating them. But they were so damn good, I proudly became a crime scene of BBQ sauce and dignity. My plate looked like a chicken massacre, and I have no regrets. My lady ate like she hadn’t seen food since Tuesday. She blacked out mid-bite and came back mumbling “Batman” and “smoked perfection.” Come hungry. Leave sticky. 10/10 would ruin a shirt again. #SaltAndSmoke #BBQLife #CheeseMeltedMySoul #BLINDOG143D #ArnoldMissouri

I hate to post this, literally hate it, because I was so excited to try their food, but sometimes bad reviews help provide feedback, to change. The food was not good. Honestly, I cook significantly better than this, and I think that’s the most disappointing part. You go out because it’s easier, and better than home, and to enjoy good company, this just wasn’t good at all. The beans, overwhelming with tumeric, the pulled pork, heavy maple smell but very little flavor; honestly, the name says salt and smoke, I don’t know if salt or smoke was used on anything. The pulled pork had butter I guess from the bread dripping everywhere. The only thing decent was the fries. Had the hush puppies too, if it wasn’t for the butter, cardboard would have tasted better. Even the service was sub par. It was awkward that the girl was standing there with a machine when I had to select a tip, because I felt pressured to leave a 20% tip for service that did not deserve it. The only truly friendly person was the girl, and youngish man who sat us. Will never go back, would have felt better setting 65 dollars on fire.

First time at the South County location and it was an absolute delight. As a gluten free diner, this place made me feel so comfortable. Lorrie was absolutely amazing. Personable, courteous and fun. So warm and welcoming, especially for 9PM on a Thursday. Special shout out to Andie for making it an even better experience. Only complaint is that the ribs were quite bland. Would definitely return, especially if Lorrie is working.
