We were staying in a nearby holiday property and had several meals in the George. Steve and Emma made us feel welcome and looked after us very well. The steak and ale pie was the highlight of the week and is highly recommended. In the past we have stayed in a small hotel in the Lake District and we rated their chips as the best ever. The chips at the George are at the same level. If you are in the area this is a very good choice for food. Better to book before visiting to ensure a table is available. Will certainly go back if we are in the area again.

The food was excellent, without doubt, the Steak and Ale Pie was the best I have ever tasted, crammed full of tender steak in a rich gravy. I had a burger the previous eve and that was right up there as well! In fact all the food we had (including breakfast) was very, very good. Throw in very friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and very comfortable room with a deep bath, then it has to be a highly recommended from me!

Stayed in Donyatt for a weeks break and was recomended The George as a place to go for a meal. I'm so glad we did. Visited around lunch time and we ordered fish and chips and steak and ale pie. Portions were very generous and the food exceeded all expectaions. Pie was rich and flavoursome and the beer batter fish was crispy and well cooked. Desert was sticky toffee pudding which my wife rated as an 11/10. Pudding was excellent and sauce and custard generous. I would recomment if you are in the area you pay The George a visit as you will not be dissapointed. Staff were very attentive which made the visit even more enjoyable.

We were a group of 8 friends there for our annual 'catch up'. The atmosphere here is lovely- relaxed and easy going. The food is great with good choice and quality. Staff are welcoming, helpful and engaged with our group. Landlord and landlady are very nice too. Would recommend The George. Thank you for looking after us all.

The George Inn Donyatt was recommended to us and boy it did not disappoint. We have travelled over 3000 miles around the UK over the last 5 weeks and have eaten in many places from lossiemouth down to Donyatt. The meal here was 10 out of 10. The best we have eaten in the UK. The hosts Steve and Emma are so welcoming. The staff are so polite and so happy to look after you. Highly recommended 👌 👍

Had a lovely meal at the George! It's a lovely pub, great atmosphere! Staff were really friendly and accommodating! Really nice landlord, had a nice little chat. Dogs welcome. Mixed grill for £24, what else can I say!! Amazing. Neck oil on tap for me🙌🏻🙌🏻

Beautiful home cooked food, wonderful service. Pre-ordered for party of 9, happy to add additional starter on arrival. Food arrived hot, well presented, and absolutely gorgeous. Shout out to the sticky toffee pudding! Staff were friendly and helpful, we felt very welcome. Looking to book again in the future for larger party!
