We were gifted a 2 night stay bed and breakfast for our wedding back in March 25. We booked for the weekend of the 23-26 Oct 25. |On arrival check in was a smooth process, we had room 28 which was a 4 posted bed room. Located to the back of the castle. Lovely large room with a fantastic view of the grounds.|We were blessed on the Saturday with great weather - lucky as that was our planned hike day. There are lots of routes which can be started from the Castle we did just under 7 miles - taking in the beautiful surroundings and stopped at a couple of local places to eat and drink along the way. |Breakfast both days was great, there was a good selection and swift service. We also opted to eat both nights in the restaurant. The food was outstanding - both big foodies that eat all over the world, the chefs are top notch. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced. Both Friday and Saturday saw events happening at the Castle meaning the staff were very busy - the Saturday night in particular. |Having worked in this industry myself in the past I did feel for some off the staff with some of the rude folk that were in the restaurant. The staff are a true credit to this establishment. |100% would recommend and would stay again.

Cheese and wine tasting experience was amazing! The host gave just the right amount of information about the 5 cheeses and 5 wines and they were all delicious! Fabulous atmosphere in the dungeon. The whole evening was beyond anything that could have been expected.so good we’ve already booked the next one!|We’ve been to murder mystery nights before which have also been fun.

Visited Walworth Castle, with a group of friends, on Halloween 🎃 Night for an exclusive Wine & Cheese extravaganza in the Castles Dungeon. What a superb evening with some superb wines & cheeses all eloquently curated and narrated by the great host that is Matthew Robertson, Sommelier & Fromager extraordinaire! Exceptionally great night with some great takeaway knowledge in a place that is definitely on the up under new ownership & excellent management. Highly recommended 💯

Beautiful castle hotel and I loved the look but the management made the event I was attending feel unwelcome or a bit of an inconvenience, when asked if we were able to book a Sunday roast we were told not for our event we had a roast sandwich only. And when directed to the front bar they were not able to serve us properly as the bar was closed and we were advised we couldn't go into the resteraunt. Really shame as it looks amazing.

We've been here dozens of times for Sunday lunch and always enjoyed it! Not this Sunday it looks like the staff have all been replaced with kids and the food was a disgrace cremated veg and hardly any meat even the gravy was thin and watered down.I would normally complain but it was a special birthday for one of our group so i only had a quick word when paying the bill.I know its under new management but i think the cuts they have made are too deep.Sorry this isn't good enough at this price point and I will be looking elsewhere now.

Stayed two nights and had a great stay. All Staff so friendly and helpful from reception, waiting and housekeeping. The food is fantastic .. breakfast, lunch and dinner. Location is so quiet with lovely views but still accessible to where we needed to get to. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with all amenities that were needed. We will be booking again for November when we need to be in the area once again .Definitely recommend.

Recently went with the family for a meal as I'd seen they were doing restaurant week and I have to say the food was amazing, the choice of dishes was fantastic, it made choosing very difficult but I have to say the prawn spring rolls with cauliflower cream starter was something else, then the pork loin main was just cooked to perfection and I followed it up with sticky toffee pudding....wow! Will definitely be back, amazing food and very good price.

Our group of 14 friends and family dined in the hotel restaurant on Saturday and will never return. It was the worst, rudest standard of service I have ever encountered in six decades of dining out. The staff are cold and unfriendly. The waitresses completely untrained and incompetent - dishes were brought to our table and we were told they didn't know what they were. Veg was brought out and we were told they didn't know which dishes they went with. The speed of service was a joke - some people had almost finished before others received their food. Despite having pre-ordered our food days earlier, there was an hour's wait for dessert, despite several requests for it. This was a particular problem because we had two infants in the group who needed to leave in good time. The food was a completely mixed bag - some of the mains were OK, some of the starters and puddings were pitiful. The woman in charge apologised for the delay and offered a discount. The bill arrived with no discount, When the discounted bill eventually arrived another 20 minutes later, she uttered the immortal phrase "If you want a discount you will have to pay £20 more. The till won't allow it!" She was aggressive and rude to go with it. Cue a deeply embarrassing scene in a busy restaurant where we politely attempted to get this woman to see the nonsense of what she was saying. She eventually, rudely snatched the bill back and said if we wanted our discount she'd knock some money off our puddings. It was all very begrudging. Well, miss, if you offer a discount you need to damn will honour it - and keep your snarls to yourself, There was further confusion when we attempted to pay and we never received the full discount. By this stage the embarrassment was too much, the children too tired and our shell-shocked group could not wait to get outside. Shame on you Walworth Castle Hotel and your untrained, mismanaged, incompetent and rude staff. PS The establishment (don't know who exactly as they failed to reveal their name or position) emailed me back to respond to my claims and had the bare-faced audacity to claim we had been abusive to a member of staff. Whilst we were clearly less-than-impressed with the place and the staff, nothing could be further from the truth. This abuse DID NOT HAPPEN. The slur is totally libellous and is purely a way to attempt to deflect from their own massive short-comings. So not only is the service appalling and rude and the food patchy, we now have an establishment that lies. How telling that - despite our behaviour - they wanted to know how they could retain us as "valued guests"! I have to say if I had abusive clientele in my restaurant I would never invite them back. You can't have it both ways. Yet more shame on you, Walworth Castle Hotel - a low class establishment whose threshold we will never cross again.
