Large bright clean premises with expansive windows that let in plenty of light. This establishment offers a broad selection of pastries, coffee beans and brewing accessories. Unfortunately the cappuccino and cortado I ordered were average in quality. The cappuccino was weak flavored almost bland without the rich arabica aromas I’ve come to expect. The cortado was average. Same as the service. I left disappointed as have driven by this establishment for many years and was excited to sample their coffee. If I return this review will be updated.

My expectations were quite high, as I read a lot about blue bottle before. I asked for their single origin option and was happy to see them using Acais Orbit dosing tool. The cappuccino was just ok. The shot wasn't pull to show the sweet and floral character of this single origin, but rather was quite pungent. I loved the sturdy built and clean interior ✌️

It was an early Tuesday morning and my normal Blue Bottle shop on Piedmont was closed. I googled this place and decided to get coffee here. Thankfully, because it was early, parking wasn't an issue. I can imagine though during 8-9am it could be a hassle as it's directly across the street from Oakland High. Aside from that, the place is enormous... Probably the largest Blue bottle I've ever been in. The baristas were kind and the spot was clean. If you're a blue bottle fan and need coffee, especially early in the morning, then you gotta check it out.

What happened to BB? Your prices have doubled and your quality halved. Dog poop for sky high prices. I can do this with no training on a $200 espresso machine.

Always wanted to see what the 100 yr. old W.C. Morse building was like inside. Now that I have seen it, I'm good. Slow service, limited coffee and more limited tea choices in a "to go" only place... I don't see coming back anytime soon to a cold and uninviting space.
