What a lovely visit! Just love the quirkiness of the Lock Inn Cafe! The staff are super friendly, relaxed & keeping busy. They all take pride in what they are doing & when not waiting on tables are keeping everything ship-shape. This is the second time we have visited, this time returning with the family for a birthday lunch. The food is delicious, hot & super generous portions! Plus I just love having a chocolate milkshake…made me feel like a kid again. We can highly recommend the Gert Burger, Beer Battered Fish & Chips and the Lasagna. There was lots to choose from, great Veggie & Vegan options. It is a relaxed place & leaves you with a feel good vibe. Plus is is super dog 🐾 friendly, plenty of water bowls and doggie treats. We will return! We sat by the canal but there is lots of indoor seating too! Thank you all 🩷

I used to love coming here 10 or so years ago but it seems to have gone downhill since I last visited. Beautiful setting by the canal, but the food is very standard 'pub grub' these days, and pretty expensive too. £12.50 for a tuna mayo ciabatta with some fairly basic salad and coleslaw on the side. Staff were super friendly and a good level of service, but the food was definitely underwhelming. The outside furniture and decor all seems a bit 'tired' too.

Gorgeous place right on the river, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We went for breakfast, great portions and quality. Staff were rally friendly. I can imagine this place being a lovely place to come in the warmer months, sat outside having a cold one. I recommend a stop over here if ur passing.

I went to The Lock inn for a quick drink after a long dog walk. I walked to the bar to buy my drink but before I could I was told I would need to be seated. I explained I only wanted one drink. Once again I was Informed I would need to be seated and wait for table service. After sitting for 20 minutes and watching waiters chat I left. All I wanted to do was buy a drink ! I will not be returning as this system is restrictive and does not work. The table service was slow and the waiters showed little interest in taking orders. After not having my order taken I decided to leave, Even when I said the wait was too long when I left they could not care less. The Lock has never been the same since Dick and Jane left.

Definitely gone down hill from Dick and Jane days. Limited menu, we ate on the boat having reserved a table. The boat could do we a paint as it was peeling of. The food was nothing special and mist if our party struggled to find something on the menu. Staff were pleasant and friendly. No on site parking but this is available close by on the street or car park.
