Looking at reviews if didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised how nice modern and clean our room was, I can only guess it has had a recent renovation. Huge walk in shower and modern bathroom and the room was modern and very clean. If you have stayed in other budget hotels it is better and the included breakfast was very good. I will definitely stay here again.

I don’t usually write reviews, but my experience at this so-called “resort” was so unbelievably bad that I feel a moral obligation to warn others before they suffer the same fate. If you’re considering staying here, don’t. Sleep in your car, camp in the woods, or just stay home, any of those would be a luxury compared to what I endured. The room itself was the first punch to the gut. There was no fridge, no microwave, nothing. Just a tiny desk, two lamps, and an old TV that doesn’t even have Netflix or YouTube. the walls were so thin I could hear every conversation in the hallway. Now let’s talk about the facilities, which were the reason I chose this hotel in the first place. The website proudly advertised a “beautiful outdoor pool open until late evening.” Reality check: the pool closed every night at 7:00 PM sharp and the one stated on website wasn’t even available, right when most guests would actually want to use it. When I asked why, the staff shrugged and said, “That’s just the rule.” Then there was the restaurant, which was honestly the worst part of all. You don’t have any options to choose from and it’s expensive, almost a scam given the price of this hotel. By the end of my stay, I was counting down the hours until I could leave. In summary: If you like tiny rooms, bad food, early pool/gym closures, and a staff that seems allergic to customer service, this is your dream destination. For everyone else, I beg you, do not waste your money. Final verdict: 1/5 stars (and that’s only because zero isn’t an option). I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

I stayed at Wyboston Lakes Drift Hotel in a party of 8 lady golfers on a one night two rounds golf break. The course was great fun and in good condition and my room was comfortable, clean and modern. The spa was closed and we were not advised of this in advance. In all honesty I probably wouldn’t have used it on such a short stay but obviously can’t review it. On arrival I was surprised to see that the lovely restaurant overlooking the lake which I remembered from a previous trip is now a sort of bistro pub. I ordered a ciabatta roll at 11am which had still not arrived an hour later when I was due on the golf course. The staff were very apologetic but nevertheless I had to go without anything to eat all day. In the evening we were supposed to have a three course dinner. We had been seated on a high table with hard bar stools, totally inappropriate for a group of mature ladies. We asked to be moved and were seated in the lounge area which was more comfortable but in amongst game table and darts. The food available was basically pub grub - burgers, pizzas, chicken wings and what they called pit plates, a sort of light bite. We ordered a pit plate to start and a main each (all drinks and food had to be ordered from the bar). To our surprise everything arrived all together so by the time we had eaten the pit plates the mains were cold. The Manager explained that the kitchen sent out food as and when it was ready! Desserts were in a large glass a bit like a 1970s Berni Inn! Not what we expected, probably ideal for a young group of men but not for us and certainly not a three course dinner.

What a wonderful stay! Honestly I was sceptical because I was notified after my booking that work had taken place and the hotel had a new name and new look. However it's a beautiful work in progress. The check in process was really simple. My room wasn't quite ready so I headed down to the Gravel Pit for a drink in the sunshine. I then got an email 30 minutes later saying my room was ready. It provided a QR code so I didn't have to fill in all my details again. There are staff at check in ready to help you if you need it and they're extremely friendly. I got to talking to one of the ladies and they were explaining the new concept with the design. Considering it's only technically been open roughly a day it looks great and everything went smoothly.|My room was lovely and clean. They provided a decent fan and kept the curtains shut to avoid the heat getting in. Tea and coffee is a nice little touch as is the hand soap, shampoo and shower gel. Everything was so clean and the bed was very comfy. I had a great night sleep.|I ordered room service through the QR code in the room after I had spent the afternoon at the spa. Side note I highly recommend using the spa facilities. This is something separate you need to book but it's absolutely worth it!|The room service was so quick! And absolutely delicious. If you're completely zonked out come the end of the day it's a great option.|I already had lunch earlier in the Gravel Pit which was also lovely. I sat out on the terrace overlooking the lake. They have QR codes at every table which makes ordering very simple.|The service was really great and quick. I'm a fan of the new look and fresh design. It's definitely going down the route of convenience and relaxed laid back style. I definitely think this will encourage a lot more people.|I certainly will be returning myself.|My last note is to absolutely book breakfast with your room. I didn't do this so I wasn't able to have the buffet and the menu breakfast doesn't start until 10am. I wasn't aware of this but it's my own fault for not booking it with the room. It's a note for future reference.

We had booked and were emailed nearer our stay to advise of the rebrand of the hotel which was now called the Drift Inn. The video they sent of the hotel immediately put us off staying here and we did consider cancelling our booking. The pink neon sign outside of Drift Inn on arrival put us off immediately. On entering reception more pink neon everywhere made my heart sink. The place looked awful very cheap and nasty The automated check in was also disappointing as I like to speak to a person. The machine issued a key but no indication where our rooms were. The bedroom was perfectly ok but nothing special. Very sadly no air conditioning so the room was boiling. Nothing to indicate when breakfast was. Poster on the wall with a QR code to contact reception via WhatsApp. What about elderly guests with no smartphone? Bar/restaurant had lovely staff but the menu was very basic. Just burgers and pizzas. The shuffleboard games and darts made the place very noisy.. The whole place seemed like it was geared to young people. I would not stay here again.

We visited this hotel as a group of 10 friends and booked 5 rooms as couples. This was supposed to be a romantic weekend getaway. While the environment is calm and the building is beautifully decorated, our overall experience was far from pleasant. ||The hotel rooms are split between two separate buildings and arranged by room numbers, which meant our group was scattered across the premises and this was quite inconvenient. ||The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning. Four of our 5 rooms were extremely hot and stuffy, and despite a fan being provided, it did little or nothing to cool the space. Sleeping was unbearable, we had to sleep without clothes or blankets just to get through the night. Getting ready the next morning after a shower was also uncomfortable, as we were sweating profusely while dressing. ||We reported our concerns to both the receptionist and the manager, but their response was disappointing. The manager insisted that the hotel was not advertised as having air conditioning, so there was nothing they could do. Eventually, they brought a small desk fan on our second night, which made no noticeable difference. The lack of empathy and support from management made the situation worse. ||One of the most frustrating moments was being refused access to my friend’s room by a staff member simply because my room was not located in the same building. The staff member was extremely rude, and the reasoning was both ridiculous and unnecessary. This interaction left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Never can I recommend them. ||Our negative experience didn’t end there. We had booked a dinner table at Gravel pit for 10 people well in advance, that is four days before arrival. On the night of dinner, about six of us wanted to order steak, which was clearly listed on the menu. Shockingly, we were then told there was no steak available. This could have been easily communicated earlier, especially when we were approached that afternoon to confirm if we were still keeping our dinner reservation. There was no email, no warning, no courtesy but just disappointment. Unfortunately, there were very limited options to choose from their menu list, so we mostly had pasta and the haddock.||In summary, the hotel may look appealing, but the poor management, lack of basic comfort, and unprofessional staff completely ruined our stay. I’m grateful our booking was only for two nights.

A nice hotel! Rooms are pleasant, but basic; maybe only suitable for a short break. Coffee and tea are provided, as are decent toiletries. Bed is comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only downside is the corridors, which look a little dated. Plenty of car parking and a short walk into Eaton Socon! Might need a bus or taxi to get into St Neots though. The on-site bar is reasonably priced with plenty of seating. Overall, would recommend for a short stay.
